The PNR status of a train ticket can be checked at the Indian Railways online enquiry portal, http://www.indianrail.gov.in/enquiry/PNR/PnrEnquiry.html. On the enquiry page, a user is required to enter the PNR of the ticket of which the booking status is to be confirmed. In the next window, the user will be prompted to verify his identity.

Normally, a train ticket with a possibility of more than 70 per cent is highly likely to get confirmed before the scheduled departure of the train.
